Brick Pillars

Unusual brick pillars were incorporated into the Lee County Courthouse on Horner Boulevard in Sanford. The area began as North Carolina's western frontier, but slowly developed into a thriving commercial center after two crossing railroad lines attracted those searching for opportunity. The photo is one of many by Chip Pate used in community publications throughout Lee County.
